This camera has a lens with 107° field of vision. Night vision capability is included and this can provide visibility down to 0 lux. Some users reported glass reflection issues at night.

This camera does not have activity zones that scan for a movement like some of the best IP cameras since it uses face detection to check if any person is entering or leaving your home. The reason for this is that often moving branches or trees will generate false alerts with other cameras. The face detection software did not work that well and needs improvement.

The Simplicam will generate alerts for face detection or sound or motion if you set it up to do that. The sensitivity of the camera is adjustable using the app as well as the microphone.
