When it comes to powering the camera, it’s done through AA batteries. You get a pair with the Blink camera when you buy it, but after that, you have to supplement your own batteries. The good news is that you’ll get around two years of usage before you need to replace the current ones. Still, it’s kind of crummy that the camera overall depends on batteries and doesn’t have a guaranteed perma-power status.

The upside is that it comes with free Cloud storage. Normally you would see a small sample of free storage followed by the option of upgrading to a paid subscription, for more storage space. Being able to freely access your video footage is great so this definitely counts as a plus.

The fact that the camera is intended mostly for mobile users can be seen in the picture quality. While most WiFi cameras offer 1080 video recording, this one comes with 720p recording. Now, it’s not as good as 1080p, but it’s still 720p. Remember that there used to be a time when 720p was a big deal, so while it could be better, rest assured that you’ll be able to see everything that’s going on in the image.

Amazon Echo compatibility

Being able to link your WiFi camera to Amazon Echo is another great feature. Also catering to the “always on the run” category of users, being able to command the camera through your smart speaker is a good addition that will make things even easier.
