FLIR FX Indoor Camera Review

We have reached a technological age where having top of the line video quality is no longer reserved for those that spend thousands of dollars. Even something as small as a WiFi camera can pack a serious punch nowadays, and the FLIR FX Indoor camera is no exception, as we talk in this review.

Great picture quality

In terms of picture quality, you get 1080p recording, which means that you will be able to see everything going on in the recorded room crystal clear. While it’s a standard feature for many cameras, not all of them offer 1080p recording, but luckily you don’t have to worry about that with the FLIR FX Indoor. On top of that, it also has a 160 degree viewing angle, making it great for capturing wide points of interest.

Satisfying night vision

Through the power of infrared, the camera offers good quality night vision, which is another key component of the perfect camera candidate. Unless you’re only interested what happens in an area during the day, you will need that night vision feature to have control over nighttime surveillance as well. It doesn’t even have to be at night time; maybe you’re just setting up the camera in a very dark room, but that infrared still kicks in.

FLIR FX Indoor Storage options

Now, if you don’t really want that much storage space and you think you can manage with 64 GB of storage, you’ll be pleased to know that the camera comes with a microSD option. However, if you want more storage you can pay for access to the optional FLIR cloud service.

Room health sensors

The added bonuses of measuring a room’s temperature as well as humidity levels make the FLIR FX Indoor all that better. Some people like the idea of having complete control over what goes on in a room. Knowing just how hot and humid it is in there can come in hand.

2-way audio

Depending on what you want to use the camera for, you might also appreciate this next feature. The camera comes with 2-way audio system which means that you can hear what’s happening in the recorded room. Additionally, you can talk to people in the room, or even tell your pets to get off the couch. The camera can be anything you like, from a baby monitor to a pet monitor, to an intruder monitor and so on.

Rapid Recap

Rapid Recap is a feature available with the Cloud storage subscription. It lets you recap what has happened throughout hours of footage in just a couple of minutes. It’s an easy way to get a quick rundown of everything that’s been going on while you were sleeping or have been away.

Sports version and mobile options

The camera lets you view the video footage on your mobile devices as well, and even comes with some added benefits if you opt for the sports version, such as being waterproof. The sports option also comes with accessories for mounting the camera and water resistance.

Pros

  • Sports option with added benefits
  • Large 160-degree viewing angle
  • 2-way audio channel
  • Rapid Recap feature
  • Room health monitoring

  • 4 Hour batteries
